Illustration Friday - Adapt

i guess there isn't a group much better at adapting to their surroundings than gypsies...i just learned the original gypsies were displaced Egyptians (that is Isis behind her) and that many of the ladies were trained in "magic"...hmmmmmmm love that....

This is beautiful Adrienne and that's what I like about visiting different blogs, you learn something new every day. I never knew about displaced Egyptians being labeled "gypsies." Thanks so much for this info. Great painting and have a great weekend.

I didn't know that about gypsies--either originally Egyptians, or training the women in magic. I love the image--especially with the image behind it--it adds another layer of meaning. Beautiful!

This is gorgeous. I like the flat image of Isis behind her in contrast to her colorful richness. The Gypsies also spent time in India which gives depths to the rhythms of Flamenco.

That rocks! I didn't know that. Thanks for the mini lesson! I'm going to share with my friends at "goth night", they'd be excited to hear about it.
