Empty House

i imagine the air in there
is dense as sand and stale
from the lack of warm flesh.
it hangs there, lonely as i am, waiting

i look in. it's all i can do.
the porch creeks below
my swaying body.

the empty house has old soundwaves,
ones that had breath.
they slowly move inside my ribcage.
bounce back and forth until they
fall with dull thuds and extinguish.

the ache to go inside
is so palpable
it constricts my throat
it swells my tongue.
it is now time to
block it out
to move from the door.

Drawings in Moleskine - Angels and Angles

trying to draw a little more just to draw...for no other reason other than to practice more...
did this last night in church on Christmas Eve - yes i should have been singing and praying but that's not my thing...i do those things in my head...

this is Cate Blanchett quickly drawn - i think the angles on her face are really fabulous (her actual face - not my drawing of it) - i like exaggerated line and i see that a lot in her face - i will try the new twilight guy next maybe because there are some serious angles there...

Drawing of my daughter Gwyneth

well, i find i haven't been just drawing lately...if i'm not drawing to paint i'm just not sketching at all which i feel is important...so i'm going to make an effort to do that a little more...must go buy a moleskin...this happened last night when i was supposed to be playing poker and the game changed to Risk...that's a big no way for me...this is from a photo - it's flawed but looks similar to her.
