Silhouette

i wrote a poem for a short story/poetry contest at this blog - you can enter too!
The word is Silhouette and here's the photo for inspiration, taken by Jason Evans (also the blog writer) for this contest:

here's his blog "the Clarity of Night"
here's the contest,
and here's the poem:

Title: When he was the silhouette

it was like
any other day.

but then it was in us like a secret.
and it made us leap and writhe
a little possessed.
but with rhythm and
purpose.

and he was crying in his way.
and i was yelling so that someone could
acknowledge this!

and then that dim light
that floats in my chest,
the one that
barely makes a shadow,
burst like stadium fireworks
and burnt the leaves to ashes.
they floated to my upturned face.

i was glowing.
it blackened everything around me.
i sighed to
let the light out.

and i saw everything different
in his shadowy
parts. and everything was different
from that time on.

If you feel like it, please comment on it here: Not sure but i believe the most comments wins a prize....i think you win like a bazillion dollars...how cool would that be??

Hi there! I just popped over from Jason's blog (the Clarity of Night) to say hello. Your art feels so comfortable to me. It's beautiful!-- your style/use of color speaks the same language as my soul. I'm in awe...
:)

And I almost fell off my seat when I saw where you are. My sister used to live in Fleetwood. Small world!

I really don't know how one comments on poetry other than to say "IT moves me in mysterious ways and i am touched" Yours does that but like a bit of dust riding a sunbeam, can't put my finger on it...So love your blog, though I never comment...Love your work, love your you-ness!!!Love this poem!

I loved the poem and the photo was equally beautiful.

That Billy Joel concert you attended was probably the one where he shared the bill with Elton John. I still have my T-shirt. :-) Alas, poor Billy caught a cold and throat infection on the day I went Elton sang his songs instead. :-(

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog.

Greetings from London.
