IF word of the week is "Worn" - i was thinking literally about this...about things people wore. i've always been amazed by corsets and why people (because some men did) wore them. and still do. Crazy. All in the name of fashion.
i was trying for a "saloon" look with this young lady, possibly even a little steam punk but it's not quite there...need some metal and ruffles...

I hear ya...For me, bras and high heels are just as bad as corsets. Who invented these things, and why? I mean, why can't it be fashionably acceptable and applauded to have an expanding waistline, sagging boobs and oxfords? Why do we always buck against nature?
Great illo!
She's awesome! Great job!

Nice!:)
love what you wrapped around her arm!
nice illustration! i love the love tattoo!
I really like how you handle the transparent watercolor--its very vibrant! And she has such a great attitude about her.
another beauty!
Corsets, bras and high heels...sounds like a song or a movie. They don't really bother me that much....:O) I'm sorry, my wife is always telling me how lucky I am to be a guy. So I feel for you. Great illustration, love your character. Oh and hey, thanks for stopping by
She looks worn with attitude! I love it!
I would say that your girl has attitude. And... panache. She has a lot of panache, even without the metal. Loved it.
Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Hello Adrienne, I went to greet. Congratulations on the beautiful illustrations.
Ciao
Love it!! What a sassy girl! I'm just happy I am alive today....and I don't have to be strapped into a corset very day!! People used to wear iron corsets...can't even begin to think how horrible and uncomfortable it must be!!
Thanks so much for the link, I really appreciate it:)
Great torture devices those corsets are!
Lovely job. Looks like a pretty classic corset to me (and I know--i've made several as a costume stitcher...) More metal to make it punk. I think as humans we have always been trying to change our shape with clothing. Imagine anyone now wearing a bum roll over their corset--but people used to.
She is great! I love your style :)
Hello ....
I was a little on your blog, not as I reached him, but I liked it. Congratulations, you do great!
My congratulations. I will follow you.

I like her little piece of messy hair, and for some reason she's reminding me of Alice in Wonderland. Cute!
I wasn't even looking at her clothes, but her posture and her face--this woman is worn out, and looks like she's given up, at least for the moment. GREAT character.
Love it! actually... all of them :o)
