I used to do a lot of different interpretations of Botticelli's Venus - and then i sort of went away from it...but a glance at the famous painting made me want to start it all up again. And why not with Steampunk since it is a theme that is threading it's way in everything i'm thinking about. I was focused when i drew this but also she is focused because of her robotic eye...
Her arm was inspired by the incredible Boilerplate - i'm thinking she could potentially be Boilerplate's lady friend...
WoooHooo! Brilliant - as always.
ReplyDeleteThis is really kind of creepy (especially the robotic eye), but I like it. It's so incongruous--the beautiful woman with the mechanical parts, yet it all fits together.
ReplyDeleteThe illustration is great!!! I like it :)
